Before & After Web Site Designs

Lawrence Binding Systems (launched 4/2/04)

Before: Entire site was authored in Flash, making updates impossible for the client. The lack of text on the pages also hurt search engine rankings. Finally, the dark colors of the site didn't match the company's branding of Red and White.

After: Site built using a database, enabling the client to make updates using their web browser. Red tabbed "folders" were a natural navigation metaphor for a presentation binding company. A Site Map link makes search engine crawling easy, and a small Flash movie on the home page still provides graphic interest.

Lolly the Trolley

Before: Users didn't understand to click the side links, many never looked inside the site. They would call or send e-mail asking for information contained in the site.

After: Buttons and Tabs clearly delineate "clickable" areas. Client-updatable news scroller allows more information to be displayed on the home page, without looking cluttered. The trivia question offers interactivity and engages users to move throughout the tours section.
